"Until one is committed, there is hesitancy,
The chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative and creation
there is one elementary truth,
the ignorance of which kills countless ideas
and splendid plans.
That the moment one definitely commits oneself
then providence moves, too.
All sorts of things occur to help one,
that never would otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision.
Raising on one's favor all manner of unforeseen
incidents and meetings and material assistance
which no one could have dreamt would have come their way."

— Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

• Minerals, salt and water

I am always surprised when a client tells me that they hydrate after strenuous exercise or work, by drinking water only. We lose much more than water when we sweat. Ashtanga and other hot yoga systems are dangerous without effective hydrating which cannot be achieved without mineralizing.

Salt is necessary, though commercial salt is a problem. Sodium, chloride and potassium are necessary for efficient movement of fluids in your soft tissue, brain and cells. During severe heat waves many people, especially the elderly, die from mineral deficiencies. Doctors say don’t eat salt, they should say don’t eat commercial table salt, find an all natural minimally processed salt. Use a Celtic or Himalayan salt that has not been processed. Mix a spoon full of salt in a glass of water and leave it over night. If it has all settled to the bottom of the glass it will not dissolve in your body. Many of the health food store minerals are just the same. They don’t break down well allowing you 3 to 10% assimilation at best and in the worst case scenario, will deposit in your tissues and organs. If you produce too much saliva and find it dripping out of the side of your mouth when you sleep, it could be a salt deficiency.

Many laborers and athletes have experienced severe dehydration. They know that drinking plain water will make them feel worse. If you are vomiting from dehydration you will vomit more. At bare minimum add a small amount of lemon juice to your water. At best make the drink that I use. (Listed under my personal practices and formulas) This hydrating formula is what sports drinks dream of becoming. You will see and feel a difference.

The water from green coconuts has been used for thousands of years to replace electrolytes. The coconut palm was known as the tree of life to ancient yogis. The water, hermetically packaged in this immature coconut has also been used as a replacement for plasma during shortages.

Our entire being is more electrical than most people realize. Many heart emergencies are immediately treated with an I.V. of magnesium or potassium. Electrical wire is metal (mineral)that conducts electricity, the rubber or plastic without the metal would be of no use. Distilled water does not conduct electricity but mineralized water does. Jump-start your electrical system with pure water and water soluble ionic minerals. If you have varicose veins, cramps, brain fog, sexual dysfunction, skin disorders burning eyes and many other physical problems, you could notice significant improvement. Minerals (from earth deposits) also absorb environmental toxins, heavy metals and dietary acids. The alkalizing effect of minerals increases the hemoglobin’s ability to transport oxygen. This alone is a major step towards better health.

Water is not all the same. Many researchers have found that a high surface tension of the water can often prevent it from being absorbed (Check out my list of personal practices and formulas to see how to increase the hydrating potential of water.).

Rocks have been evolving along with plants and animals all throughout the planet's history. A recent geological study has the scientific community very excited about evidence that shows a relationship between all life forms, including rocks. It seems that as we diversified and evolved, so have minerals. The earth as a living organism has transformed along with plants and animals. These scientists have realized how closely related living organisms are with the mineral kingdom and believe they can detect life on other planets by mineral assays done from afar. Indigenous people have always thought of our planet as a living organism, giving her names like, Mother Earth or Gaia. It is probable that we need to ingest a greater quantity and diversity of minerals as we evolve and as the challenges of life increase. Dr. Dawn Medicine Wolf suggests that alchemic mineral formulas are also helpful in the evolution of consciousness. Certainly our bodies are under greater challenges than ever before, with the oxygen concentration in the air being the lowest in history, the hazardous levels of air and water pollution and the increase of electromagnetic stress being so severe, especially in large cities.

The ancient yogis supplemented their dietary needs for minerals with shilajit, Sanskrit for the rock that heals humanity’s/man’s challenges or problems ( not a rock but somewhere in between rock and plant with living DNA, say Chinese researchers). The Sanskrit definition was given to me by an Indian man sitting next to me while I was flying to Arizona to meet with research scientists promoting a modern day shilajit; there are no coincidences. I have subsequently read numerous studies on the components of these shale deposits which are basically enormous compost piles that sat for millions of years, digesting and concentrating. This vast assortment of raw materials including, but not limited to, plants, animals, birds, insects, fungus, molds, bacteria, viruses and the immunological information of each and every one of their struggles to maintain life , stored in their DNA. In these studies on humic and fulvic acid (which is what the shilajit mostly is), the doctors and researchers were able to address numerous health problems by feeding it to patients, both orally and intravenously. You have probably heard of colostrums. The first milk secreted from a mothers breast that inoculates the infant with all the immunological information the mother has acquired and if she was breast fed, the grandmother and so on. Shilajit is the colostrum of Mother Nature. Can you fathom that?

With all of our destructive agricultural practices, the soil has become depleted. The food that grows in the soil or the animals that eat that food are in turn also deficient in these minerals. We, as an evolving species, need to find sources of minerals and other nutrition to supplement these deficiencies and to be able to handle the increasing challenges of our world and the world our children will inherit. For most folks, finding high quality, bio-available nutrition is very difficult; there are just too many worthless, confusing choices.

I read about a man that was starting a fertilizer business. He was mining minerals in the California desert. At the beginning of his endeavor, driving to his mine, he caught a glimpse of a hand waving. An old minor had run out of gas and lay almost dead in this desolate place. The minor, in appreciation of this man saving his life, offered to teach him how to douse. This man was impressed with the art form. He not only practiced but researched, dousing water, geomancy (the study of electromagnetic energy) and people using it as a diagnostic tool. He noticed that the minerals he was haphazardly ingesting daily from mining increased his ability and sensitivity to dousing. In any type of energy work we are used as a conduit. It is a reasonable idea that more minerals in our body (conduit) the greater our sensitivities (subtle electrical). Granted there is much more to energy work than this, but every little enhancement helps.

A NASA study confirmed that man-made minerals are not as absorbable and lack co-factors that allow the minerals to be absorbed and utilized efficiently. The study showed little or no benefit from the isolated man- made mineral chelates.
